About Moku Ola
Moku Ola Hawaiian Healing Center is an oasis where balancing the mind and
heart is integral to healing the body and soul. With sweeping views of Koko Marina
and the majestic Ko’olau mountain range beyond, guests are welcomed and
embraced into our home with the familial warmth of aloha spirit. Guided by
experienced and licensed practitioners gifted in the ancient combined arts of
lomilomi (massage) and lā’au lapa’au (herbs), guests are transformed through the
therapeutic benefits of authentic Hawaiian healing. At Moku Ola, both guests and
practitioners work together through self-awareness to draw out impurities of the
mind, body, and spirit so that peaceful resolution, ho’oponopono, may take place.
Our practitioners understand, respect, and live aloha spirit – through their
guidance, guests will learn and experience the true meaning of this guiding force.
Come experience our healing services and our selection of Hawaiian-made health
products at our Koko Marina Center location. Bring the healing arts and products
of Moku Ola to your next group event - ask about our comprehensive packages for
community gatherings, cultural events, and corporate conventions. Owners Aoi
and Pi’ilani Wright, along with their staff, invite you to rediscover the harmony
of a balanced body, mind, and spirit at Moku Ola.
Aoi Wright

As a young keiki growing up in Papakōlea Aoi’s love for helping others was inspired under
the training of her tutu man Joe Keo Wright who instilled the importance of Lā`au
Lapa`au.
It was from this strong foundation based on Aloha and Mālama that Aoi was inspired to
pursued her passion by attending University of Hawaii at Kapi`olani Community College
where she graduated in Nursing and later worked at Kapi`olani Children’s Hospital as a
pediatric nurse for 10 years. The burning desire to continue to help others didn’t stop
there; she then attended massage school and was licensed in 2001 as a massage
therapist.
Thru the spirit of wanting and sharing Aoi then found her true nitch, Lomilomi. While
working full-time as a nurse Aoi balanced both worlds by devoting her time to her passion
at The Lomi Shop.
In 2001, aspiring for more insight into lomi Aoi found her self at the steps of Sheila
O`Malley who continues the traditions of Aunty Margaret Machado. After completing the
beginning and advanced courses Aoi was approached to take study under Kaliko Chang
who under a watchful eye instructed her in the teachings of Kalua Kaiahua of Maui.
In 2004, Aoi was fortunate to enroll in Aunty Malia Craver’s Ho`oponopono classes put
on by the Queen Lili`uokalani Children’s Center. Coming full circle in 2004 Aoi enrolled with
Kamehameha’s Health and Wellness program which offered an opportunity to work with
Aunty Alapa`i Kahu`ena a well sought after Lā`au Lapa`au practitioner here in Hawai`i.
In 2004, Aoi was inspired to give back to her community by taking talented young
Hawaiian keiki and instructing them in the art of lomilomi. Leading community events
around O`ahu Aoi has inspired a group of younger Hawaiians to take hold of the `ike and
mana`o that was shared with her.
In 2006, Aoi looks forward to continuing her studies of Hawaiian Culture by contributing
her healing hands to hula hands and join her hula sisters of Nā Pualei O Likolehua, lead by
Kumu Hula Leina`ala Kalama Heine.
Pi`ilani Wright, Kanaka Lomi & L.M.T.
piilani@mokuolahawaii.com
Pi`ilani Wright born and raised on the island of O`ahu grew up in a very cultural and
spiritual connected family. At a very young age Pi`ilani was taught to live lomi by her
mother Verna Leimamo Ho and Grandmother Dolores Kaleimamookealohikikaupea Lee
Zakimi. Pi`ilani practices with the understanding that “Lomilomi is a state of mind that
one does not only do but must also be by living each day with aloha.”
Pi`ilani graduated from Kaiser High School in 1988 and went on to study business at
Kapi`olani Community College. She later attended business classes at Alu Like which
helped her to connect the Hawaiian Culture to her Western life style. It is from this base
that she decided to re-connect to her lomilomi roots and attended American Institute
of Massage Therapy in Kailua to get licensed while she worked and did her apprenticeship
at The Lomi Shop in Windward Mall.
After getting licensed as a massage therapist in 2001 Pi`ilani then expanded her training
thru working at various massage establishments and later expanded her knowledge thru
Ho`oponopono training with Aunty Malia Craver.
In 2003 Pi`ilani and Aoi Wright formed Lomi Company L.L.C. operating its first fixed base
operations as part of a Native Hawaiian Incubator with Hale Ku Ai Cooperative in the
Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. This Incubator project ran from February 2004 thru
July 2004 and provided a low cost opportunity to work at developing their business
motto supported by technical assistance, marketing and relationship building initiatives.
Thru their experience at Hale Ku Ai Cooperative Pi`ilani and Aoi Wright decided to move forward in developing their strategy and vision to develop Moku Ola
Hawaiian Healing Center which is located in Hawai`i Kai at Koko Marina Shopping Center.
